Deep Creek Lake State Park
Garrett · Maryland Department of Natural Resources
A place to get outside.
Special events such as wedding ceremonies are often held within the park. While they are permitted, they must be scheduled in advance with the park office. To schedule your special event, please call 301-387-5563 or email our administrative specialist at [email protected]. Deep Creek Lake State Park has four picnic shelters that are available to reserve from May to September. Each picnic shelter includes its own parking lot, a water spicket, electricity, a fireplace, picnic tables and three charcoal grills. Deep Creek Lake State Park is a primary parking and access point for riders entering the Deep Creek Lake Snowmobile Trail and the Meadow Mountain Trail. The trail begins directly adjacent to the State Park, and riders may stage, unload snowmobiles, and access the trails from the main boat ramp parking area. The Deep Creek Lake Snowmobile Trail is open to riders 24 hours per day. Please note, the Meadow Mountain Trail is open to the public 8 am to sunset. To access the Meadow Mountain Trail, move slowly through the Day Use area of Deep Creek Lake State Park to safely cross State Park Road to the entrance of the trail. All snowmobiles using the Deep Creek Lake Snowmobile Trail must display a valid Maryland Snowmobile Permit (Decal). A permit must be obtained before entering the trail.
